Coast Guard Sailing Cup 2013 held at Chennai, Port Trust on 16-17 Feb 13.   Four players of GP Sailing Team represented for ATNK & K Area team, and won the championship

 
Jt Services Blue Water Sailing Expedition from Port Blair to Chennai and Back.  Jt Services Blue Water Sailing Expedition was undertaken by MEG with Indian Navy ex A & NC from Port Blair to Chennai and back in two legs.  First leg from Port Blair to Chennai was undertaken by Indian Navy and return leg from Chennai to Port Blair was undertaken by MEG & Centre. Col Deepak Berry, ex Supdt Trg was ldr of the expedition and is a reputed sailor with adequate experience in sailing.  The expedition was sailed on J-24 yacht by a crew of five in each leg covering a distance of 1600 NM over 20 days.

A Tri-Medium expedition from Chennai to Visakhapattanam and back was conducted under the aegis of HQ ATNK&K Area christened as GOLDEN PALM TRI MEDIUM EXPEDITION from 17 Feb 10 to 08 Mar 10. The Overall resp for conduct of expedition was given to MEG & Centre. Col Deepak Berry Commanding Officer Chief Instructor Workshops was expedition ldr. The expedition aimed at inculcating a sense of adventure as also a means of interacting with ex-servicemen and local population along the route. The expedition was conducted via tri mediums ie a cycling leg by personnel of JAK RIF and a sailing leg carried out by personnel from MEG & Centre.
 
A Flag Off Ceremony was held on 17 Feb 10 at the Naval Jetty at Chennai. The Expedition was flagged off by Lt Gen Pradeep Khanna, AVSM, VSM, ADC, GOC-in-C, Southern Command on 17 FEB 10 in the presence of senior Army, Navy and Coast Guard dignitaries. Media personnel were present in large numbers on the occasion.
 
A Expedition flag was presented to the expedition ldr by the Army Cdr.  The sailors of MEG & Centre set sail in two Maxi 77 yachts covered a distance of over 580 nautical miles during the course of the expedition.  A total of 10 sailors from the Centre participated in the expedition.  During the expedition an Ex servicemen meet was org at Visakhapattnam under the arrangement of zilla sainik welfare office Visakhapattanam. The return leg was flagged off  by Rear Admiral KB Singh COS Eastern Naval; Comd  on 26 Feb 2010.  The expedition was flagged in at Chennai on 08 Mar 2010 by Maj Gen  NK Kohli , Offg GOC ATNK  & K,  Brig RM Mittal, SM  Comdt,  also sailed from Vishakpattanam to Kakinada.
