ARMY PLACEMENT SATELLITE NODE
MADRAS ENGINEER GROUP

PLACEMENT CELL   :  The Placement Cell was established in 1991 under the aegis of MEG & Centre. It is at presently work under Army Welfare Placement  Organisation  (AWPO), Adjutant General Branch of Army HQs. Placement Cell of  MEG & Centre is providing placement to the registered ESM in the sponsored companies. During the first half of 2010, 289 MEG ESM registered and of which       135 were provided placement in India and abroad also. During the discharge drill pd the PBOR under go Asst Security Offr Course sponsored by Deputy General Resettlement also Project Kshamta, where they are trained in English comn & IT  by HQ MEG & Centre to enhance their prospect in the Resettlement.

MEG HELP LINE : MEG Help Line is established in the Placement Cell to   facilitate solving of the problem of pensioners &  NOKs with NE, PAO (OR) & HQ MEG & Centre.

DSC RECRUITMENT :-   The Placement Cell also carry out recruitment of ESM to DSC. Large number of vacancies are allotted to this Centre and it is seen that very few ESM are enrolling themselves in DSC amounting to surrendering of vacancies. All Regts should make a concentrated efforts to motivate the PBOR to enroll in DSC. 104 vacancies are allotted from 01 Apr 2010 to 31 Mar 2011 out of which only 12 vacancies have so far been filled up  
 

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Army Central Welfare Fund (ACWF). A Sum of Rs. 1,00,000/- is paid out of ACWF to the NOK Of PBOR who die in harness (Non attributable). Total No of  21 NOKs have been benefited from this scheme and Rs. 9,80,000/-have been distributed at their native place.

ASSURED DECENT LAST RITES SCHEME (ADLRS)

            Assured Decent Last Rites Scheme is an endeavour to ensure that the Armed Forces Veterans get an honourable funeral and befitting farewell  from the Army during their ‘last journey’. The ADLR Scheme is primarily financed and executed  by the CSD Canteen in our area of jurisdiction on which the deceased veterans was last dependant.

            All willing veterans including officers, JCOs and OR and their widows, holding valid canteen cards will be eligible for ADLR scheme.

            A maximum grant of Rs. 2500/- to assist the family in performing the last rites in a decent and honourable manner will be given on the spot to the NOK by the field Staff. Total of 06 NOKs have been distributed the ADLR grant from 01 Jan 2010 to 30 Jun 2010.
