Thambi Institute has been construction as annexie to Basantar Auditorium so has to facilitate social gathering entertainment of NCO's and their families at the Centre.
The Soldier Information Room has also been renovated and contains lot of information to educate the troops and their families about their entitlements
Hall of fame and Gymnasium

Passenger Reservation System (PRS).  A PRS has been opened at MEG & Centre by Comdt MEG & Centre on 24 Feb 2009. The PRS provides ticketing and Rail resrvaion facilities to service pers and civ ilians employed in Centre. PRS at the Centre is only one of its kind in any Army Org in Bangalore. PRS has two computer terminals connected to the Central Reservation System console. One can avail the following facilities at the PRS :- 

      > Rail Reservation all over India using Wt/Form D/CV/Fam Wt
      > Exch of Form D and CVs]

MEG Welfare Driving School -. MEG Driving School was inaugurated on 18 Sep 2003 with a purpose to provide civ dvr licence for rect trainees and also to dependants of serving pers.

Riding Club.      A Riding Club for all rks and their families was inaugurated on    25 May 02. The Club has four ponies released by QMG's Branch Army HQ. Two addl ponies have been recently collected from RTS & Dep Hempur purchased out of Regt Fund. Two pvt riding horses have been gifted by the Bangalore Turf Club.
Aramghar. There are two Aramgarhs in the Centre, one is loc near Meanee lines and another is loc near Basantar Auditorium. A nominal charge of Rs 25/- and Rs 10 per day is charged for stay in these Aramgarhs respectively. A room for accommodating families is also available. Maint and upkeep of the Aramgarh is done through Regt Funds. Aramghar has now been renamed as Gabriel Vishranti Bhavan.
Est of DTDC Courier.     A DTDC Courier service has been opened in MEG & Centre to facilitate courier services to all rks. This proj is a brain child of Mrs. Anita Thamburaj, erst while President AWWA Southern Comd and has fructified due to her untiring efforts. DTDC Courier service has offered job opportunities to PBOR who are disabled or to their widows / children in their endeavour to help the def pers. Our widow Mrs Sujatha w/o late Nk Mallappa and one NCO from MEG & Centre has been trained and emp by DTDC.
Rani Chennamma Girls Hostel, MEG & Centre. Rani Chennamma Girls Hostel has been opened at MEG & Centre, Bangalore in Jul 08. The hostel provides boarding and lodging facilities for the daughters of Serving and Retired pers and Civ employees of MEG pursuing studies in School / College in edn institutions in and around Bangalore at a nominal cost. Girls emp in indep vocations will however, not be allowed to stay in the hostel. The age limit for admission is 10 to 25 yrs. A Governing Council has been est to supervise the functioning of the Girls Hostel. The present capacity of the Hostel is 20 students.

Kochhar Institute.     The Kochhar Institute was established in May 2005. It provides a facility to all ranks for organizing wedding receptions and other private functions

Ex JCO’s Club.     The Ex -JCO’s club was established in 1935 and has the unique distinction of being the only one of its kind in the Indian Army.  It is a place of recreation and interaction for all retired JCO’s of the Madras Sappers.

Trishna Club. ‘Trishna Club’, earlier known as ‘Madras Sappers Sailing Club’ was established in 1977 on the    southern side of the magnificient Ulsoor Lake. It is  the hub of all water sports such as sailing, rowing,  kayaking and canoeing. Till date, the Trishna Club    has  produced 27 oarsmen of international repute   who have won between themselves, 10 Gold, 10  Silver and 23 Bronze medals.

Emvironmental Park.Developed recently into its present shape, the park sports a verdant look with lakes, variety of ornamental flowering trees, flora and fauna. The park has a sprawling 12 - hole golf course, a riding club, jogging trail and an angling facility.

Madras Sappers InstituteThe Madras Sappers Institute, started in 1952; today consists of a CSD, Non-CSD, bakery, soda - water factory and a vegetable shop.

War Memorial Boys Hostel.       It was established in 1947 and can accommodate 50  boys. It has boarding, lodging, sports and other essential facilities.
Shaurya Army Pre-School.       The erst while Madras Sappers Kindergarten School  (Saplings ) is  one of the oldest institutions in the Centre. It   was inaugurated on 8th July 1964, by the then   Commandant, Col JC Sipahimalani.  The ‘ Saplings ‘  was started to facilitate the education of the children of serving / retired Madras Sappers and civilian  employees. Madras Sappers Kindergarten School has now been renamed as Shaurya Army Pre School wef
Family Health Centre.  Started in 1928 with basic amenities, the Family Health Centre is well - furnished and equipped. Today, the Family Health Centre looks after most medical needs of the families. In addition, it also carries out a comprehensive vaccination programme for children.

  Family Welfare Centre .    The Family Welfare Centre was established in 1948, in a small hutment, by the then Commandant’s wife Mrs. Sheela Loomba. Run on the empowering principle of ' Learn and Earn,' it conducts classes in computers, tailoring, embroidery and typing. The staff is drawn entirely from the widows and dependents of troops.

Religious Institutes .       The Centre has two sets of religious institutes; with the Kaliamman Temple, St Paul’s Church and a mosque in ‘Meanee Lines’; and the Kaliamman Temple, St Sebastian Church and a mosque in ‘Assaye Lines’.

Subramaniam JCO’s Mess.  Constructed in 1994, this is the main JCO’s Mess in  the Centre and is named after Sub Subramanian, who  was awarded the George Cross in 1944.

Basantar Auditorium .   The auditorium was constructed in 1962, when Col AL  Kochhar was the Commandant; and was popularly known as the ‘Sapper Theatre’.  It was rechristened as Basantar Auditorium on 30 September, 1998. Equipped with the facilities of a dual projection system of Reel and LCD projector, it also has a spacious stage on which various official and cultural functions are held.



Sapper House .  The official residence of the Centre Commandant since 1886, the ‘Sapper House’ was purchased in 1962 and now is the regimental property of the Madras Sappers   

Madras Sappers Museum and Archives.   This institute holds a  place of  special    importance in the Centre. It was established in 1979 and has a record of the rich traditions and heritage of   the Madras Sappers in the form of photographs, pictures and artifacts.

Officers’ Mess.      The Madras Sappers Officers’ Mess was moved to it’s present location in March 1886. Equipped with the best of facilities, it now has a glazed basement, squash, badminton and tennis courts, a skating rink, health club, billiards room and a library.
War Memorial The Madras Sappers War Memorial was erected in 1923 and originally stood in a tree – shaded spot overlooking the tranquil waters of the Ulsoor Lake. In February 1986, the War Memorial was dismantled stone by stone and reassembled exactly with its original grandeur adjacent to the Parade Ground of the Centre.
Centre Headquarters.  The Centre Headquarters building was constructed in 1925. It was given the sobriquet 'Monkey House' since, in yester-years, the area surrounding the building was frequented more by monkeys than by men.
